Morning arrival in Verona and transfer to the 4-star Grand Hotel des Arts, centrally located and within walking distance of the Arena. Welcome lunch will be served in a local restaurant before the afternoon at leisure to settle in. Optional evening performance.

Sat 26 Aug

This morning we take a walking tour of historic Verona, including visits to the Casa di Giulietta with the balcony where Juliet was said to have received Romeo’s declarations of love, the medieval and Roman Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza dei Signori, the civic centre of Verona. Afternoon at leisure before the evening performance at the Arena.

Sun 27 Aug

Join your guide for an excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage city of city of Mantova, where we visit the Palazzo Ducale, built between the 14th and 17th centuries as the residence of the Gonzaga family, and other sights including the Basilica Palatina di Santa Barbara and the Basilica di Sant’Andrea. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant during the tour. Return to Verona for the evening performance at the Arena.

Morning transfer to Verona airport for your homeward journey.
