Visits will include the glorious baroque-style Royal Castle with its ornate Italianate rooms. Lunch and the afternoon are at leisure before transferring by coach to the theatre for the ballet performance in the evening.
Sat 29 Jun
Today is a full day excursion to the outer regions of Warsaw, where the beauty of the Polish countryside is complimented by the charm of the old aristocratic residences. The first stop is Chopin’s birthplace in the small village of Zelazowa Wola, where to celebrate the composer’s bicentenary in 2010, the grounds surrounding the house were revamped, making it now one of the most beautiful National Parks in Poland. The tour continues to Nieborów with its aristocratic Palace and Arkadia gardens based on classical mythology. During the tour lunch will be served in a local restaurant. Return to the hotel for the evening at leisure.
Sun 30 Jun
Join your guide this morning for a tour of some of the city’s most important sights relating to Chopin, including the Church of the Holy Cross Church to where the composer’s heart was brought by his sister after his premature death in Paris. No visit to Warsaw would be complete without spending time at the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in the beautiful Ostrogski Palace where the exhibits include the grand piano belonging to Poland’s most beloved artist, as well as a number of his letters and musical compositions. Lunch and the afternoon are at leisure before a private piano recital of Chopin’s music in one of Warsaw’s sumptuous palaces, followed by dinner in a select restaurant.
