Fri 24 Aug

Morning arrival in Salzburg and transfer by coach to check in at either the luxurious 5-star Hotel Bristol or the comfortable 4-star Hotel NH Salzburg City, both located in the centre. Welcome dinner in a local restaurant.

Sat 25 Aug

Join your guide this morning for a walking tour to visit highlights of Salzburg’s musical history, including the Mozarteum, the Landestheater, the Mirabell Palace and the Cathedral. Afternoon at leisure and evening performance.

Sun 26 Aug

This morning is free for independent exploration of the city. Mid-afternoon performance.

Mon 27 Aug

Today we journey from Salzburg into the scenic Salzkammergut, the Alpine region of lakes and mountains to the east of the city, which has inspired many an operetta melody. We arrive at Mondsee to visit Basilica St Michael, and continue to Attersee where we see Gustav Mahler’s cottage and where lunch will be served. Finally we take a guided tour of the Klimt Center in Kammer before returning to Salzburg for the evening performance.

This morning there will be a backstage tour of the festival houses; the Festival Hall, the Haus für Mozart and the Felsenreitschule, subject to
rehearsal schedules. Afternoon at leisure and early evening performance.

Wed 29 Aug

Join your guide this morning for a visit to the 17th century Hellbrunn Palace outside Salzburg. This summer palace, built by Italian architect Santino Solari, includes a beautiful park with water features. Return to Salzburg for a free afternoon. Early evening performance followed by a farewell dinner in a local restaurant.

Thu 30 Aug

Day at leisure before the early evening transfer to the airport for your flight home.
