Join your guide this morning for a tour visiting the Grand Mosque, a gift to the nation from Sultan Qaboos to mark his 30th year of reign, and the Royal Opera House. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant, after which we visit the Bait Al Zubair Museum, founded by the Zubair family to display their collection of Omani artefacts. In the early evening we enjoy pre-opera cocktails and canapés in the hotel before transferring to the Royal Opera House for the evening performance.

Sun 10 Feb

This morning we leave Muscat for the Bimmah Sinkhole and Wadi Tiwi, a spectacular gorge carved out of the mountains, before travelling on to Desert Nights Camp, a 5-star boutique hotel in the heart of the desert at Wahiba Sands and surrounded by endless red gold dunes. Lunch will be served en route. In the evening there will be the chance to experience some light ‘dune-bashing’ in a jeep and to see the sunset from the top of the dunes. Return to the camp for dinner accompanied by traditional Omani folkloric dance and music. After the concert retire to your luxurious Bedouin style tent for a memorable night in the desert.
