Early afternoon arrival in Stockholm and transfer to the 4-star Berns Hotel. This award-winning and stylish boutique hotel is located in the centre of Stockholm’s dynamic shopping and restaurant district, overlooking Berzelii Park and the Baltic Sea. Time to rest before a welcome dinner that evening in the hotel.

Meet your guide this morning for a walking tour of Stockholm’s Old Town. You will visit some of the city’s major sights including the Cathedral, the City Hall (home of the Nobel Prize banquet) and the magnificent Royal Palace. Lunch is at leisure before departing by steamer in the afternoon to Drottningholm Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the private residence of the Swedish royal family. Dinner will be served in the Pavilion prior to the opera performance at the Court Theatre. Return to Stockholm by coach.

The morning is free for you to further explore the city and lunch independently. In the late afternoon you will transfer to the Strandvägen boulevard and take a boat trip† across the Edsviken Lake to Ulriksdal Palace, during which you will be served a glass of wine and a plate of Swedish delicacies. The double bill that evening is at the Confidencen Theatre, after which you will return by coach to the hotel.

The day is spent in Urbino, one of Italy’s idyllic hill towns and the birthplace of Raphael. Your guide will take you to the adjacent churches of San Giovanni and San Giuseppe and then to the Palace of the Dukes of Montefeltro, widely regarded as the pinnacle of Renaissance architecture of the cinquecento. The palace contains many art treasures including works by Raphael, Piero della Francesca, Titian and Botticelli. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. Return to Pesaro with time to relax before the opera performance that evening.
