Itinerary

Sun 18 Jul

Independent arrival at the 4-star Eastbury Hotel, a boutique Town House Hotel, located in the heart of Sherborne and boasting an award-winning restaurant. Welcome dinner in the hotel.

Mon 19 Jul

Join your guide this morning for a walking tour of historic Sherborne, in which much of the old town, including the abbey and many medieval and Georgian buildings, is built from the distinctive ochre-coloured Ham stone. Our tour will include important sights such as the St John’s Almhouse and Sherborne Abbey, where we will take a guided visit. Early afternoon at leisure before transferring to Bryanston. On arrival enjoy a luxury picnic supper in the Festival marquee. Evening performance.

Tue 20 Jul

Today is at leisure for you to make your own choice of activity. We highly recommend a visit to Sherborne Old Castle, an English Heritage property located 400m from the hotel. Built in the 12th century, it was a Royalist base during the Civil War before falling to Cromwell’s troops in 1645. Alternatively Sherborne New Castle is 15-20 minutes’ walk from the hotel and owned by the Wingfield Digby family. In the late afternoon we transfer to Bryanston for the luxury picnic supper and evening performance.

Wed 21 Jul

Independent departure.
