Itinerary

Wed 12 Feb

Early afternoon arrival in Seville and transfer to the elegant 4-star hotel Vincci La Rábida, a former 18th-century mansion close to many of the city’s landmarks, including Teatro de la Maestranza. That evening there is a welcome dinner at the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, which offers both traditional Sevillian cuisine with a twist of sophistication and a stunning view of the Cathedral.

Thu 13 Feb

Transfer this morning to Jerez, a town that holds worldwide acclaim for its sherry, but is equally famous for flamenco and purebred Iberian horses. Visit the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art where some of the finest horses in the world are bred and trained - and also taught to dance! Lunch is in a local restaurant after which you will visit the Gonzalez Byass winery where ‘Tío Pepe’ (possibly the world’s most famous fino sherry) was developed. Return to Seville for the evening’s opera performance.

Fri 14 Feb

Join your guide for a walking tour of Seville and see two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the impressive Cathedral Santa Maria de la Sede, the world’s largest Gothic church, and the breathtaking Alcázar, a magnificent marriage of Christian and Mudéjar architecture. Lunch and the afternoon are at leisure before the recital that evening, with the possibility of post-performance drinks with the charismatic Spanish baritone Carlos Álvarez.

Sat 15 Feb

This morning join your guide for an excursion to Córdoba and a visit to Mezquita, the city’s grandiose and richly-decorated mosque, regarded as one of the greatest representations of Islamic architecture. After a farewell lunch of tapas at the atmospheric restaurant Bodegas Campos, return to Seville for the rest of the day at leisure.

Sun 16 Feb

Spend the morning as you wish before transferring to the airport for your homeward flight.
