Fri 29 May

Arrive late morning and transfer the short distance to the opulent 5-star Hôtel Bristol, conveniently located in the centre of Salzburg and close to the Festival’s performance venues. A welcome lunch will be provided at the hotel with some time to rest before the opera that evening.

Sat 30 May

Join your guide this morning for a walking tour of the city, focusing on some of Salzburg’s historic and cultural highlights, including Mozart’s birthplace where the family lived from 1747 to 1773, and the Cathedral where he was baptised. Lunch is at leisure before the carefully-curated afternoon concert. The rest of the day is free for you to spend as you wish, with the option to also attend the evening’s concert performance.

Sun 31 May

The day starts with a delightful matinee recital encapturing the spirit of this year’s Festival. There will then be time for an independent lunch before a guided tour of the State Exhibition celebrating the 100-year anniversary of the Salzburg Festival. Dinner and the evening are at leisure.

Mon 1 Jun

An excursion this morning to the ancient town of Hallein and a visit to the Celtic Museum which offers an insight into the history of the town and the importance of salt mining in the region. Return to Salzburg for lunch and the afternoon at leisure. There will be an early farewell dinner at a local restaurant followed by the final Gala concert featuring Cecilia Bartoli and many of her musical friends.

Tue 2 Jun

Spend the day sightseeing or shopping before transferring to the airport for the early evening flight home.
